What are the short term effects of COCAINE?

The short-term effects include narrowed blood vessels, enlarged pupils, increased body temperature, abdominal pain, nausea, euphoria, increased energy, alertness, insomnia, restlessness, anxiety, erratic and violent behavior, panic attacks, paranoia, psychosis, heart rhythm problems, heart attack, stroke, seizure, coma.

These effects begin after a few minutes and peak after about 15-20 minutes and last for an hour.

What are the long-term effects of Cocaine?

The long-term effects are loss of sense of smell, nosebleeds, nasal damage, trouble swallowing, infection and death of bowel tissue, poor nutrition, weight loss.

There are other health related medical issues related to this drug. They include premature delivery, if pregnant, low birth weight, risk of HIV, hepatitis and other infectious diseases from sharing needles.

How is Cocaine used?

Cocaine can be snorted, smoked or injected.

What does it look like?

Cocaine comes in a white crystalline powder. Crack can be white or tan pellets or rock like substances.
